At the United Nations, Patrick has had Diplomatic status as Special Adviser to the Permanent Missions of Suriname and Sao Tome and Principe. In 2003, he co-created and then directed the Annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations® for 14 years. Now, after the YA@UN, he continues to advance high level, well-respected thought-leadership projects in various ways: Patrick is an elected member of the Global NGO Executive Committee's board directors; edits the NGO Reporter, disseminated to 4,000+ U.N.-affiliated NGOs worldwide; he also currently edits The Global Connection magazine for UNA USA Westchester Chapter, where he is Communications Chair; was Treasurer, twice, for the UN DPI 64th and 65th Annual Conferences; Mr. Sciarratta was named Co-Chair for the Logistics Subcommittee of the 67th Annual UN Civil Society Conference and Media Co-Chair for the 68th U.N. His work has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning. In China, he has delivered keynote addresses at the World Tourism Cities Conference (Beijing), World Summit on Innovation Economy (Nantong), and also addressed the student body at Peiking University and Tangshan College, commencing a long-term relationship with the college.
• Patrick was lead faculty member for the Nonprofit Management Certificate Program for over a decade at Purchase College of the State University of New York. Prior to that, he was the Arts Director at Hunter College (CUNY).
Mr. Sciarratta attended the 4th Petra Conference of Nobel Laureates at the invitation of King Abdullah of Jordan and the 5th Fez Nobel Laureates Conference at the request of King Mohammed VI of Morocco. He represented youth interests and worked with global leaders and youth in attendance during both events.
Patrick received the Governor's Excellence Award in 1969 and the New York University Alumni Achievement Award in 1992.
